Small, Raramuri clay pot with leather wrapping which will naturally darken with age.
The Tarahumara, also known as Raramuri, are the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Artisans have been making this style of pottery for thousands of years without a wheel, coiling the clay, then scraping or burnishing with a wood stick or stone to smooth the clay before firing.
